Macelleria: The butcher that cooks for you

Gemma May 26, 2019 Inner West, Restaurant Visits Leave a Comment

Last night, we tried a new restaurant in Newtown, on Enmore Road. Macelleria -the butcher that cooks for you.

It has a great vibe – comfortable, casual, but fantastic food selection.

It is as described  – a butcher that cooks for you. Customers have a look at the deli counter at the front and choose which meat they would like. You choose, which meat (as much or as little as you like and any kind you like) and choose as much or as little sides as you like.

The bar is off to the left and you go and pay for your drinks separately.

The whole restaurant has a nice pub vibe to it, but the customer service is great and they know their meat! Definitely ask for their recommendations on choosing your sauce.

We ordered 4 different types of skewers (chicken, lamb, pork and beef) as well as a German Bratwurst sausage and a 200g Angus rump steak, with mushroom and green peppercorn sauces.

Can wait to go back and try the fresh grilled salmon next time!
